She was born Nov 6, 1926, in Sedalia, a daughter of Charles M and L Flo Houk Evans. On Aug 27, 1954, in Kansas City, she was married to John J Anthony.

Mrs Anthony was raised and educated in Sedalia. She was a 1945 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She worked at K-mart stores in Kansas City for 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, AR, the W.S.C.S./Martha's Circle, Shepherds Group in Bella Vista and the Lions Club. She helped organize the Mother's Day Out program at the church. She returned to Sedalia in Nov 2000. She enjoyed spending time with her family, square dancing and music.

Also surviving are a son, Patrick R Paxton of Webb City, MO; a daughter, Ralene Fangman of Bunceton, MO; a brother, James M Evans of Kansas City; a sister, Mary Alice French of Lake St Louis, MO; six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
