(9 Apr 1925, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
David A Gephart, World war veteran, who died yesterday morning about 1:30 o'clock after a three months confinement at the Soldier's Memorial hospital on Honor Heights, will be buried at Erick, Okla., his home this afternoon.
The body will be shipped to Erick this morning at 11 o'clock by Street-Eicholtz undertaking parlors.
He is survived by his wife, mother and two children. - Muskogee Phoenix.
"SPIRIT OF '18" STILL EVIDENT 7 YEARS LATER.
The spirit that carried American doughboys "over the top" in the world war at the Memorial hospital, whose right leg was removed at the hip joint.
Doctors Pat Fite and C. W. Robinson performed the operation, giving only local anesthetic. The patient never flinched and left the operating room laughing. The doctors were amazed. - Muskogee Phoenix.
David A Gephart died March 29th 1925 at Government Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he had been under treatment for cancer for the past three months. The remains were brought here for burial and was laid to rest in the Erick Cemetery. Services were held at the Cemetery at 4 p.m., March 31st, 1925, with Military Honors, the Erick Post of the American Legion in charge. Bro. S. N. Wilson conducted the funeral services.
David A. Gephart was born March 24th, 1888, died March 29th, 1925. He leaves a wife, mother and a sister, Mrs. N. S. Plunk of Erick, besides a number of friends and other relatives. We extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
