Former Silvara Woman dies (hand written May 19, 1967)
Mrs. Katherine Frantz of 365 South Franklin Street Wilkes Barre, formerly of Silvara, Laceyville R.D. passed away Friday afternoon at Wilkes Barre General Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Silvara, a daughter of the late John and Essie Gross Place. She lived in the Laceyville area most of her life until she moved to Wilkes Barre a few years ago. She is survived by her husband James Frantz, a son Gary of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., a daughter Mrs. Edwin Newhart of West Auburn, Laceyville R.D. A brother John Place of Johnson City, N.Y., seven sisters, Mrs. Seldon Swisher of Tunkhannock, Mrs. Kenneth Temple of Clayton, New Jersey, Mrs. Kern Brugler of Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Richard Moore, Mrs. John Conrad, Mrs. John Knapp and Mrs. Burt Scott all of Elmira, N.Y. Five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral home in Laceyville. The Reverend Richard Gregory, the Pastor of the Braintrim Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery, Laceyville R.D.
