Mrs. Martha E. Kays, 84, died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. John S. Fisher, 923 Main St., Stroudsburg. Mrs. Kays, widow of Edward Kays, had resided with the Fishers for the past ten years.
A native of Wyoming County, Mrs. Kays was a daughter of the late David [Davis]W. and Helen J. Brown Bush. She had resided in Stroudsburg the past 14 years. Prior to that she had been a resident of East Stroudsburg.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, charter member of E. M. Waller's Bible class, member of Missionary Society and the Ladies' Aid of that church. She was also a charter member of Daughters of Liberty.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John S. Fisher, and Miss Grace Hardenstine; two sons, Fred Hardenstine, Tannersville, and David Hardenstine, Jersey City.
Funeral services will be held in William H. Clark funeral home, Stroudsburg at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev. William F. Wunder, Grace church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Prospect cemetery. Friends may call at the Clark funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
