Edward W. Bradford born Nov. 13th 1850
OBITUARY
Edward Winslow Bradford died May
13 in the Massachusetts General Hospital
where he had been operated on some
days before for an internal trouble of
long standing. Mr. Bradford was widely
known in town and was a native of
Plymouth. He was a son of Edward
Winslow and Mary (Dillard) Bradford and
came as his name indicates directly in
line from the famous governor of Plym-
outh Colony. He was exactly 65 and
one-half years of age. In his earlier
days he was long employed in the Cobb
& Drew tack and rivet works, but
abandoned that trade to establish him-
self in the grocery store which he has
carried on for so long at Jabez corner,
where he was best known to the later
generation. In his more active years he
was a noted gunner and was widely
known in sporting circles for his suc-
cess as a marksman and game getter.
He married Miss Janet Ellis of Belfast,
Me., who with four sons, Reuel, of Brock-
ton, Edward W., Jr., Clarence S., and
Harry A., of this town and one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Grace Bradford Martin of
Springfield survive him. Funeral ser-
vices were held on Tuesday in the First
Universalist church, Rev. C. F. Andrews,
the pastor, officiating. Interment was
made in Vine Hills cemetery.
