W. M. McNutt left for Morgantown this afternoon to accompany his mother, Mrs. Jane Cooper, to Johnson county, where they were called by the sudden death of Mrs. McNutt’s brother, Manford Hunt, who was found dead this morning. It is supposed Mr. Hunt was stricken with apoplexy. – Mts. Rep.

DEATH OF G. M. HUNT.
The man friends of G. M. Hunt will be surprised to learn of his death, which occurred Monday morning between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.
His death was a great surprise to his family as also it was to everyone else. He was in this city Saturday, and seemed to be in good health and on the day following, attended the Union church. At an early hour Monday morning his wife noticed that he was awake and supposing that he was preparing to arise, she gave the matter no thought. Later upon her awakening, she found him dead. His death, as reported, was caused by heart failure. About a month ago his sister, Mrs. John Byers of Hidalgo, Ill., died in a manner very similar to this. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the Union church, conducted by Rev. Burkhart. Burial at Greenlawn.
Deceased was born March 11, 1847, in Hensley township. He was the son of W. R. and Martha A. Hunt, who emigrated from Kentucky and were among the early pioneers of Hensley township. On March 4, 1867, he married Matilda Branigan, and to them were born nine children, five of whom are dead, and four, John, Clyde, Cyrus and Lucy are still living. Besides the wife and children, he also leaves two brothers, James Hunt and Robert S. Hunt of Hidalgo, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Bailey Anderson and Cynthia Cooper. Deceased was also an uncle of J. C. McNutt, formerly an attorney in this city, but now residing in Martinsville.
