Albert Sam Juhnke was the son of Gustav Frederich Juhnke and Augusta Amelia Hundt. Gustav was born in Wisconsin in 1865. Augusta was born in Germany in 1856. She immigrated to the United States from Germany about 1882. Gustav and Augusta married August 20, 1882, in Emerald, Faribault County, Minnesota. They had five sons:

The census records seem to indicate that Albert's father died when Albert was a young boy. In 1900, when Albert was 9 years old, his mother was a widow. She and her five boys were living with her brother August Hundt in Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon.
On March 7, 1912, Albert married Cecil Clara Bartlebaugh in Linn County, Oregon. Their children were:

Lawrence Albert Juhnke born about 1915, died in 1984
Wilbur William Juhnke born April 8, 1917, died April 14, 1988
Dorothy Juhnke born about 1919

In February of 1927 another son was born, but he died within a few days of birth. About a week later Albert's wife Cecil Juhnke also passed away. In December of the same year, Albert's oldest daughter Esther Leona died of infantile paralysis at age 13.
On August 15, 1931, in Linn County, Oregon, Albert married Clara Dean Jarvis the daughter of Daniel Loomis Jarvis and Effie Emily McCannon. Albert and Clara had a son Eldon Lloyd Juhnke born in 1933.
