Betty MacIntyre, 84 of Villa Rica, died following an extended illness.

She was born in Newport News, Virginia the daughter of the late John Wesley and Marian Williamson Boutchard. She attended Newport News High, graduating 3rd in her class. She attended Longwood College in Farmville, VA and graduated with honors.

She taught elementary school in Newport News, Va and in Stone Mountain, GA, returning to school in 1963 for her Master's Degree. She was a Media Specialist at Altheron Elemetary until her retirement in 1981, when she and her husband moved back to Villa Rica.

She was a member of the Villa Rica First United Methodist Church, the Retired Teacher's Association, the Garden Club, and enjoyed travel, gardening and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Samuel Conger MacIntire, III. She is survived by two daughters Lynn MacIntire Alexander (Donald) of St. Simon's Island, and Ann MacIntire Hoffman (Alex) of Lithonia; a brother Jack Boutchard of Hampton, VA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial service held April 17 at Scott Ward Funeral Service - Harry White Chapel of Conyers, Georgia.
