Son of Mr and Mrs George Stelling. He resided with his family at 206 Noble Ave. in Bridgeport. He drowned in Milford while canoeing last Sunday. Under favorable weather conditions he and 2 companions set out for Fort Trumbull Beach from Charles Island. They were on the Island for a considerable time and started to head back to the mainland. They launched the boat and when they were mid channel, their canoe capsized during a heavy squall that afternoon. His body could not be recovered for some time, and the funeral was held June 15th the day after it was discovered by the Oysterboat Columbia 4 miles away from the scene of the accident . He was 18 years old.
