Last Rites Sunday for B.H. Cummiford – Benjamin H. Cummiford was born at Kalkaska September 11, 1888 and departed this life March 4, 1954. He was the youngest son of Gertrude and John Cummiford. In the year of 1913 he was united in marriage to Blanche Corwin, who preceded him in death on July 10, 1936. He was a native of Kalkaska County, and spent his entire life here with the exception of two years, which were spent in the California Redwoods, pursuing his lifetime occupation of woodsman. He was married to Marjorie Tucker of Kalkaska on April 22, 1937. To this union was born one daughter, Wanda. He is survived by his daughter; one step-daughter, Mrs. George Dulaney, of Muskegon; one stepson, Mr. Kenneth Tucker of Grand Haven; two brothers; Mr. Martin Cummiford of Grand Rapids and Mr. Asa Cummiford of Silver Springs, Maryland; also three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Berg Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen cemetery. Rev. Meredith officiated.
