Edgar and Laura's graves are in Section 1 South.

Edgar and his two brothers were all born in Coweta, Georgia before the Civil War. After his father's death in the war, his mother remarried and the family moved first to Arkansas, then to Texas.

His brothers settled in Como in East Texas. It should be noted that Edgar's wife, Laura Fanning, was born in Como and during the 1880 census, when E.S, was 25, he was living as a farm laborer, working for the Fannings. A family story about Edgar is that he worked for the Fannings as a teenager (maybe 17/18) and then left to work as a ranch hand out in West Texas. He told Laura, 8 or 9 at the time, that he would be back to marry her when she was grown, which he obviously did.

The Edgar Addys settled in Hewitt, in Carter County, Oklahoma, just across the border from the north central Texas town of Wills Point and the counties of Vanzandt and Hunt. He and Laura raised three children and several foster children, continuing to farm until they retired.
NOTE: Their third child, daughter, Myrtle Lora,(1890-1981) is likely buried in Visalia, CA where she died.
