John G. Draganza, 86, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.

Born Oct. 26, 1915, in Rochester, a son of the late Michael and Frances (Jaksa) Draganza, he was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Cecilia Parish, Rochester.

Mr. Draganza's career was in the military, having served in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he attended Officers Candidate School and was a combat engineer in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired as a lieutenant colonel after 23 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. (Pander) Draganza, and three brothers, Michael, Andrew and William Draganza.

He is survived by two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Jim Kramer, East Rochester, and Ellen Draganza-White and husband, Norman, Houston, Texas, and a brother, Thomas Draganza, Rochester.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC., at SYLVANIA HILLS MEMORIAL PARK INC., Daugherty Township, where a blessing service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Philip Bernier OFM, Cap., officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
