Funeral for Marcleen Agee Childress, 67, formerly of Town Creek, will be Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Donald Baptist Church with Brother Victor Brackin, Brother Gene Franks, Brother Bill Pullen and Brother Hugh Bohlin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Jackson Memory Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Childress, who died Monday, March 9, 2015, at her residence, was born September 6, 1947, to Silas and Mable Agee. She was an active member of Donald Baptist Church for over 35 years and was presently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Leighton. She had a servant's heart whose love never faltered. Marcleen attended Hazlewood High School and also graduated from Northwest Shoals where she also taught. She owned and operated Marcleen's Beauty Salon for 30 years while being a faithful wife, nurturing mother and grandmother. She was loved by many and had a love for God that was shared with all. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Childress Askew; granddaughter, Maylee Kate Childress; two brothers, Darnell Agee and Nathanial Agee; and one sister, Marvileen Nichols.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Harold Gene Childress; one daughter, Deanna Childress Goodwin and husband, Vaughan; one son, Jason H. Childress and wife, Magan; four grandchildren, Brooklyn Tidwell, Jenna Askew, Avery and Greyson Childress; two great-grandchildren, Breelyn Smith and Jaylynn Tidwell; one brother, Charles Agee and wife, Sherry; and three sisters, Peggy Agee, Mable Jean Martin and Lois Cornelison and husband, Robert.
