Judy was born in Bethelridge, Kentucky on April 11th, 1943, daughter of the late William Luther and Alene Martin Godbey. She was a teacher's aide for Eubank Elementary, a dairy farmer, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Judy was survived by her husband, Norman Hurt, whom she married on September 9th, 1960; two daughters, Anita (and Steve) Caron of Science Hill, Kentucky and Amy (and Zyndall) Haste of Somerset, Kentucky; three sons, William (and Mitzi) Hurt of Stanford, Kentucky, Chris Hurt of Eubank, Kentucky, and Scott (and Christi) Hurt of Lexington, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (and Justin) Caron-Gillis, Matthew Logan Hurt (and Bridgett Weger), Darin (and Emilee) Haste, Jonathan Caron, Allison Haste, Amelia Hurt, Lauren Hurt, and Daniel Hurt; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Gillis and Maximus Hurt; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Godbey, who departed this life on November 14th, 1990 and Alene Godbey, who departed this life on December 1st, 2001; one brother, Perry Godbey; one sister, Joann Linblad; and one grandson, Mark Allen Haste.
Visitations were held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13th, 2015 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Private graveside services were held at the Bethelridge Cemetery on what would have been Judy's 72nd birthday, April 11, 2015. Her ashes were interred beside brother Perry and both of her parents.
