Louis O'Lena was born in the state of New York on August 23rd, 1847, and departed this life at his home in this place, Thursday, Oct. 2, 1924, aged 77 years, one month and 9 days. Mr. O'Lena came with his parents to Illinois when he was five years of age and they first settled near Aurora. After a few years residence they moved to L'Erable. On January 1, 1870 he was united in marriage to Miss Emily Durand, of that place. They resided there for several years and then moved to Kansas, where they lived until 26 years ago when they moved to St. Anne where they have since made their home. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn the following children: Wilfred O'Lena of St. Anne, Mrs. Ulyses Strang of Pocahontas, Iowa; Mrs. Irving Harrell of Trenton, Nebraska; Archelle O'Lena of Papineau; George O'Lena of Perry, Iowa; Mrs. Jenine Shipley of St. Anne; Calix O'Lena of St Anne and Mrs. Duff Lafond of St. Anne. He also leaves 31 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Catholic church last Saturday morning, Rev. Berard officiating and interment in the Catholic Cemtery.
