Shirley, age 80, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2015. The daughter of Arna & Frances (Byrd) Shields, Shirley was born January 28, 1935, in Hearne, TX. Shirley was a longtime member of Hillcrest Christian Church in OKC. She married the love of her life, John R. Hill, Jr., on August 1, 1953, and together they shared 61 loving years. Shirley was a homemaker, and was employed at Sears, and was church secretary at Hillcrest Christian Church. She then retired from Friendly National Bank. Her most special time was that spent with her husband, John and her family. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Arna & Frances Shields. She leaves behind her loving husband of the home, John R. Hill, Jr.; 4 daughters, Terry Steele & husband, Rick, of Lee’s Summit, MO, Marilyn Gunsteen & husband, Brian, of Bull Shoals AR, Sally Heaton & husband, Brian, of Dumas, TX and Sheryl Humphrey & husband, Elvis, of Moore, OK; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. The Hill Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2015, at Hillcrest Christian Church, 1501 SW 59th, OKC, with Pastor Jerry Hudson officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 PM, at Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, OK. Friends may leave condolences at www.johnirelandfuneralhome.com.
