Mr. Floyd Austin, age 79 formerly of Haywood County, passed away at his home in Ft. Smith, AR, on Friday March 6, 2015.
He was born April 18, 1935, in Corinth, MS, the son of the late Irvin Thomas Austin and Ella Rose Fitzgerald. He lived in Haywood county most of his life. He also lived in Niles, MI, for seven years. He was a member of the Assembly of God church. He drove for Fleetline and PTL Trucking Lines, but his true occupation was being a farmer.
He is survived by his former wife, Elizabeth, of Ft. Smith, AR; his three daughters, Deborah Grady, Jottye Carol Austin, and Anita Austin, his two sons, Ronnie Eugene of Los Angeles, CA and Floyd Thomas of North Dakota, a step-daughter, Debra Osman of Ft. Smith, three step-sons, Gerald Miller of El Paso, TX, Tommy Miller of Emporia, KS and Danny Kelly of Oklahoma City, OK, his three brothers, Luther, Vance, and Mitchell Austin, all of Haywood County, a niece, Pauline Elrod, a nephew, Danny Austin, and his many grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Charlie, and Raymond Austin; and sisters, Pauline Kelly, and Mary Ferge.
