OSAGE CITY — Helen Louise Leeburg, 88, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas.

Helen Louise was born March 31, 1926 in Osage City, the daughter of Harold Ellsworth and Lillian (Benton) Lyon.

She graduated from Osage City High School in 1944.

Helen Louise Lyon married Harold Gordon Leeburg on April 16, 1950 in the United Methodist Church in Osage City. She lived in Miller for 55 years then moving to Osage City in 2005.

Helen was a member of the Miller United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Friendship Class, Republican Women, Knitting Guild, Extension FCE and two bridge clubs. She had taught knitting and crocheting countywide. She was also longtime election supervising judge and a Lyon Count Fair exhibitor. She was an avid Kansas State fan in both basketball and football.

She will be remembered by her three daughters, Janice Marie (Don) Reinhardt of Bison, Kansas, Jane Ellen (Roy) Lashbrook of Bonner Springs, Kansas and Jill Lynn (Tod) Megredy of Lindsborg, Kansas; a sister, Haroldine Cellier of California; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold on May 9, 2002; infant brother; a daughter, Joyce Louise Leeburg on August 6, 1960.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Miller United Methodist Church in Miller, Kansas. Family will receive friends, Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial to follow service at Osage City Cemetery in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to Miller United Methodist Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523. Condolences may be expressed through the funeral home.
