Mr. Robinson passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Oscar was born on November 17, 1941 to Oscar Chapman Robinson, Sr. and Ollie Anne Davis Robinson at their home in Start, LA He was the third child and second son.
He attended Start Elementary and High School and went on to complete his education with a degree in accounting at Northeast LA University (ULM). He attained his Certified Public Accountant Certification in 1967. His accounting career started with the firm of Cox, Frazer, and Webb, CPAs and he became one of the managing partners in that firm which later became Robinson, Gardner, Langston, and Bryan CPAs.
He retired in 2013 after giving 50 years to his chosen profession. His interests spanned the scope of hunting, fishing, boating, and cooking for friends and family. Oscar was a “Past Commander” of the Ouachita Power Squadron and spent many happy hours on the Ouachita River in his houseboat, “The Lucky Lady”. Wherever he was, he lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed the friendship of the people he met along the way. He has many friends and clients that will miss him.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Chapman Robinson, Sr. and Ollie Anne Davis Robinson, and sister, Peggy Ann Robinson Littleton.
Survivors include his steadfast wife of 51 years, Carol Baker Robinson; sons, Mark Randall Robinson and wife Jennie Franks Robinson, of Fort Worth, TX; Michael Ryan Robinson and Pamela Thrift Robinson of Chillicothe, OH; grandchildren, Zoie Michelle Robinson and Grayson Matthew Robinson; brother, Bennie C. Robinson, Sr. and wife Jewelene of Start, LA; brothers-in-law, Robert D. Baker and Herron R. Littleton; sister-in-law, Leita Baker Bridges and a host of much loved nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Lowery, Sonny Bordelon, Fred Amman, Dennis Gardner, Tim Langston, and Russell Bryan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Daniels, David Knickerbocker, Gene Minchew, James Horace Henry, Jimmy Lee Fuller, Buddy Copeland, and IN SPIRIT: His “like a brother” buddy Bennie Evans, Sr.
Visitation, with the United States Power Squadron Honor Guard, will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM, Monday, March 9, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.
