SANTA FE — Betty June Dowden, 72, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away, Thursday, February 14, 2008, in League City.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with the Rev. John Newton of the First Baptist Church of Alta Loma officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.

Mrs. Dowden was born June 1, 1935, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was a real estate appraiser. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alta Loma, the Eastern Star Chapter 626, Daughters of the Nile – Galveston Chapter, and the Mainland Bunco Club for over 45 years.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Edwin H. Dowden; son Roger Dowden and wife Terry of Friendswood, Texas; daughter Cindy Haden and husband Mike of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother James Gallien and wife Lou of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister-in-law Patricia Gallien of Natchitoches, Louisiana; grandchildren Ryan Haden of Las Vegas, Courtney and Chelsea Dowden of Friendswood; special friends Marie Haden, Marion and Rachel Antley; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are Ryan Haden, Roger Dowden, Mike Haden, Bobby Sanders, George Christian and Marion Antley. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Gallien.
