She was born in Shelbyville on July 3, 1969, the daughter of Earl T. and Evelyn M. (McNicholas) Clapp. She married Tim Simerly, and he survives.
Mrs. Simerly was a sales representative for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. for two years. Previously she had worked for Enro Marketing's Speedway Stores.
She grew up in Moscow and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1987.
Mrs. Simerly was a member of the McKay Road Baptist Church. She was assistant leader for Girl Scout Troop 1261 and a member of Starlight International.
Other survivors include two daughters, Allyson and Aleigha, at home; her father; two sisters, Debbie Harper, Shelbyville, and Karen Neighbors, Vincennes; four brothers, Tom Clapp, Waldron, Bob Clapp, Greensburg, and Carl Clapp and Jim Clapp, Shelbyville; and four half-brothers and half-sisters.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service with the Rev. Rod Beheler officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
