VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II AND THE KOREAN WAROBITUARY OF VAUGHN BARNEY

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Vaughn William BARNEY, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 01, 1997, at the V. A. Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

He was born April 21, 1924, in Spring City, Utah to Lynn Sidney and Jennie Watson BARNEY.

He married Betty STANSFIELD on November 06, 1947, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1942. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and with the National Guard in the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of both the V.F.W. and the D.A.V. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church.

He is survived by two daughters, two sons, Sidney I. and William D.; two daughters, Elizabeth M. HILL and Mrs. Wayne (Sherrie) DILL; one brother, LaMar BARNEY, Provo; and one sister, Bernice Ericksen, Spring City; eight grandchildren, Nickie HILL, Mrs. Darrell (Calli) OLDROYD, William (Andy) HILL, Charlie HILL, Mrs. Robert (Sandy) DeLISLE, Mrs. Jonathan (Aimee) KING, Leroy BOREN, Jennifer (Jeni) DILL; five great-grandchildren, Kayla HANSEN, Marissa SCALES, Jade OLDROYD, Maurice OLDROYD and Mark Allen DeLISLE. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 06, 1997, in the Mount Pleasant First Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery, under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home.
