She married 1st to Charles Beamguard on June 27, 1906. They had a son Elbert Strode Beamguard (b. Dec. 13, 1907). Elbert married 1st to Elizabeth Fleming Parks and 2nd to Maud Terry, daughter of James Terry and Margaret Banner.

Ethel married 2nd to LeMoyne Stroud , a lawyer who was the son of J.W. Stroud. LeMoyne went to law school in Chattanooga where she was from. They are in the 1920 census living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where LeMoyne was an attorney. Interestingly they had a real estate transaction in San Bernardino, California, before they married. They married August 3, 1917, in Shelby County, Tennessee, and divorced before 1929. Records indicate that Ethel returned to Chattanooga by 1927.

She was a teacher and a principal in Chattanooga for much of her life. Phoenix papers indicate that she taught in the Chandler Schools in Arizona from about 1922-1926. She had an Aunt Quinn living in Phoenix at that time. The newspaper clippings from the Phoenix papers about Mrs. LeMoyne Stroud also mention her son, Elbert.
