Robert A. Cawthon, 82, of Hankamer, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 in Houston. He was born on November 6, 1932 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Amos and Iva Cawthon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 58 years Wanda Jo Cawthon, sister Clara Maupin and brothers Johnnie Cawthon and Norman Cawthon.

Robert was a member of Old River Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Robert is survived by his daughter Becky Sherman and husband Bubba; grandchildren Bruce David Sherman and wife Kelle, Jennifer Elizabeth Sherman, Brittany Susanne Sherman and great grandson Wyatt David Sherman.

A visitation with the family will be on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., Anahuac. Condolences can be sent online to www.sterlingfuneralhome.com.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2015, in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, Anahuac, with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating.

Interment will follow in Anahuac Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Cawthon will be Bill Davis, Josh Goodson, Glen Phillips, Bruce Sherman, Bubba Sherman and Melvin Williams.
