Services for Abner Maxwell "Pap" Cage, 74, of Vidalia, LA will be held May 6, 2011 at 11:00am from St. Thomas Baptist Church in Levee Heights, Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery with Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Mr. Cage, son of Eddie and Sylvia Carter Cage was born in Vidalia and died at Natchez Communtiy Hospital in Natchez, MS. He was a retired oilfield worker. He was a member of St. Thomas Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and was a choir member. He was also a memberof the Pride of Vidalia Masonic Lodge #106.

He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Evelina Lyles Cage of Vidalia; one son, Larry Cage and his wife, Janet of Baton Rouge, LA; two daughters, Angela C.Thompson of Hephizibah, GA; Pamela C. Barnes and her husband, George of Vidalia; special grand-daughter, Yaminha White; three sisters, Eliza Cage of Ridgecrest, LA; Willnetta Taylor of Albany, GA; Cindy Washington and her husband, Al of Melbourne, FL; five brothers, Charles Cage and his wife, Erma; Abraham Cage and his wife, Carla; William Cage and his wife Hazel all of Baton Rouge, LA; Israel Cage of Vidalia; Arthur Cage and his wife, Arlean of Pensacola, FL; two aunts, Eliza Barfield of Shreveport, LA; Lucinda Morris of Ferriday, LA; two god-children; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Cage is preceded in death by his parents, three borthers and four sisters.
