Agnes L. Gaige 84, a long time resident of the Schoharie Valley, Town of Wright, joined her loving husband Donald and son Donald Jr. in heaven on February 7, 2015 after a brief terminal illness at St. Peters Hospice Inn in Albany.

Born on September 1, 1930 in Bronx, NY a daughter of Katherine (Buckenburger) and Alfred Holt. The family purchased a farm and moved to Cotton Hill, Middleburgh in 1933. The city girl quickly became a country girl. Agnes graduated from Schoharie High School, class of 1950. On May 26, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart, Donald Gaige. Together they raised five children on the family dairy farm in Schoharie.

Agnes loved to socialize, enjoyed laughter, and had a quick wit, hilarious sayings, enormous strength and a true survivor of many hardships. She was full of life and brought laughter and joy just by her presence in a room.

She was a loyal friend who loved to care for others. Animals and children had a special place in her heart. She was a great story teller with animation that was un-forgettable. Agnes was proud of her family and enjoyed sharing their accomplishments with others. She loved her family, chatting with her sisters and good friends. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Predeceased by her husband Donald in 1977 and son Donald, Jr. in 1970. Agnes is survived by her children, Richard (Janet) Gaige, David (Donna) Gaige, Nancy (John) Liddle and Timothy Gaige, all of Schoharie, 6 grandchildren; Richard, Lori, Jessica, Allison, Gregory and Robert Gaige all of Schoharie, 4 great-grandchildren, Kailey, Emily, Adam and Richard, 2 Sisters, Ethel (Robert) Benninger of Central Bridge and Annabelle (late Warren) Rivenburgh of Schoharie along with many special nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by one brother, Robert Holt of Middleburgh.

Calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12 Noon on Friday February 13th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie followed by a funeral service at 1 PM at the Gallupville Gospel Church, St. Route #443, Schoharie.
