ANDOVER — Nancy J. Thompson, age 78, of Andover, Ohio, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born March 20, 1936, in Williamsfield, O, the daughter of Edson and Beulah I. (Buchanan) Martin. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Thompson was a 1954 graduate of Williamsfield School.
She was employed at Smurfit Stone and Namco Controls, both in Jefferson, Ohio, and Andover Industries of Andover, Ohio. She attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Andover. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and the Cleveland Indians. She coached and was president of the Little League for many years.
Mrs. Thompson married Jack Kent Thompson Sr. in 1963. He preceded her in death in July of 1970. She was also preceded by her parents.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her two sons, Jack K. (Shari) Thompson Jr. of Madison, Ohio, and Thomas W. Thompson Sr. of Andover, Ohio; five grandchildren; and two brothers, William B. (Irene) Martin and Thomas E. (Connie) Martin, both of Williamsfield, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 9th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover. Burial will follow in Simons Cemetery, Williamsfield, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 8th, at the Funeral Home.
