A native Washingtonian, Margaret Page (Miller) Hinton, 81, passed away unexpectedly on February 27 in Venice, FL. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert S. Hinton, Jr., and two sons, Robert S. Hinton III (Melissa) and Richard F. Hinton (Charlotte). Devoted to her grandchildren, Sanders, Sadie, Sumner, Brady, Eddie and Mary, she also leaves behind a sister, Adelaide Ludy (Kitchel), five nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and dear, close friends too numerous to mention. Her family and friends were her life and legacy. She is predeceased by her parents, Burton F. Miller and Margaret S. Miller, and her dear son, Jeffery B. Hinton. She considered it a blessing and a gift to be called home to be with God and all those who have gone before her.
A proud graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, she raised her boys and was an active member of her parish and community in Montgomery County, MD, for nearly six decades. She also volunteered with many charitable organizations in Venice, FL, where she and her husband enjoyed an active retirement and happy times with old and new friends for the last 17 years. She fondly remembered her summers spent as a child in Montross, VA, where her grandmother, Mary M. Sumner, was mayor.
As a direct descendant of Thomas Jefferson, interment will follow at Monticello in Charlottesville, VA.
