Daniel Brenneman Of Near Jefferson Dies
Jefferson, December 30 – Daniel Brenneman, retired farmer and life-long resident of this section, died at 5 a.m. today at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wagner, near here. Death was due to a complication of diseases, following an illness of three years. He had been bedfast for the past five days.
Mr. Brenneman, who was 79 years of age, was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Shaffer's Union Church, near Hanover Junction, and also served as an elder for a number of years.
The following survive: One son, Charles E. Brenneman, this place, and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Wagner, near here; three step-daughters, Mrs. Francis Zortman, Glen Rock RD 2; Mrs. Rufus Warner, Seven Valleys RD 2, and Mrs. Emory Kessler, Spring Grove RD 1. Twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. with brief rites from the Wagner home and concluding obsequies at Shaffer's Union Church. Rev. Kenneth Ehrhart, pastor of the Jefferson Lutheran charge, will officiate. Interment will be made in Shaffer's Union Church Cemetery. Funeral Director C. O. Goodling, Seven Valleys, has charge of arrangements.
