Jack, son of Lawrence Fuller and Jatta (Taylor) Keith, was born on August 6, 1920, in Van Buren, Arkansas. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Westport High School. He attended Oklahoma Military Academy before transferring to the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he was a 1943 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. While at Mizzou he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and a member of the varsity football team. He played the positions of guard and center, but his fondest memory was playing against Ohio State as a sophomore in the Columbus, Ohio, stadium in front of a crowd of 60,000 to 70,000 people. During his collegiate football career Mizzou played in the Big Six Conference and was coached by the legendary Don Faurot. Jack participated in the 1942 Sugar Bowl against Fordham in a driving rain storm which took place three weeks following the attack on Pearl Harbor; Mizzou lost that game by the score of 4 to 2. In 2008 the entire 1941-42 football team was inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. In 1976 he was a member of a group of MU alumni supporters who persuaded the University of Missouri Board of Curators to place the ensuing stadium expansion on the south end of Faurot Field, thereby not blocking the renowned "M" on the north end.

Following his college graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army in February of 1944, and joined the 376th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion, a part of the very elite 82nd Airborne Infantry Division. During the War he received numerous medals, including a Purple Heart; an American Campaign Medal; and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze service stars. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, June (Heger) Keith on January 11, 1971. He was united in marriage to Linda Harper on July 3, 1974, in Chesterfield, Missouri; she survives. Jack and Linda have lived in Holiday Island, Arkansas, since October of 1992.

At the age of sixty Jack retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as Assistant Vice President of Residence Services after a 37-year career. He was a member of the Holiday Island V.F.W. Post #77, the Holiday Island American Legion Post #36, and a past member of the Holiday Island Rotary Club. He was a charter member of the Holiday Island Community Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Wallace Keith, on May 26, 1999, and his sister, Ann Elizabeth Fitzmier.
