Robert S., son of Thomas and Permelia (Parrish) Nelson, married Ollie Amanda Lotspeich in Green Co., Mo. They had five children.

DEATH OF MR. NELSON
Robert Sloan Nelson, age 88, formerly living southeast of this
city, on what is now known as the Brownie Marsh place, died at the
home of his daughter last Tuesday in Houston, Texas. He was engaged
in farming, stockraising and land business in this state when a young
man and was active until a few years ago. He was buried at Houston,
Texas.

Death cert. state burial in Forest Park Cem.

Robert Sloan Nelson 88 yrs old. a former resident of Springfeild. died at the home of his daughter Mrs. O. Young, Houston , Tex. last Tuesday. Mr. Nelson who was formerly ___ and farming, stock raising and land business in ____ Court, removed from Springfeild in Houston November 11, 1918. during the civil war he served with the confederate troops. serving through out the entire period.
Funeral services for Mr. Nelson were held at Houston last Wednesday. He is survived by the widow Mrs. Ollie Nelson, two daughters Mrs. O Young of Houston and Mrs. Ed Farrell of Springfield, and two sons R. E. Nelson of Windayacu?, Nev. and Parrish Nelson of Houston.
R. S. Nelson, private, Company K, 11 th Reg., Missouri Infantry, . Served under General Price. Enlisted Aug. 25, 1862 in Washington Co., Ar. Was Appointed Sergeant, May 4, 1863., Union prisoner of war.. He was captured at Helena, Ar. On July 4, 1863, Captured, Imprisoned at Alton, Ill. transferred to Fort Delaware in Delaware. He was paroled March 5,, 1864, and forwarded to City Point, Virginia on Feb. 27, 1865 for exchange
