Agnes Kemmer, age 98, passed away March 3, 2015, at the Pocahontas Manor.

Agnes Louise Herman was born on June 26, 1916, in Sherman Township in Pocahontas County near Ware. She was the daughter of John and Anna (Kloucek) Herman.

Agnes was educated in Ware area schools. After she completed her education, she worked at Mitchell's Grocery in Pocahontas. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Farm Services in Pocahontas for sixteen years and retired from the Pocahontas Elevator in the 1980's. On August 17, 1953, Agnes married Robert Kemmer at Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas. Robert passed away on May 5, 2004, and Agnes continued to make her home in Pocahontas. She entered the Pocahontas Manor a few years ago.

Agnes was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church the Catholic Daughters, the Forresters, Missionary Ladies, the Ladies Society and the Pocahontas Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time.

Survivors include her half-brother: George Sefcik from California, many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sisters and brothers, John Herman, Mary Schott, Anna Hazuka, Helen Machian and Rose Herman, half-brother and sister, Francis Sefcik and Martha Matthiesen, and step-brothers and sisters, Adolph Sefcik, Joe Sefcik, Lillian Stegge, Agnes Moritz and Sister Celine.
