Hastings resident, Dorothy (Woodworth) Lipp - Flessner, 103 passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings- Village.

Dorothy was born March 2, 1917 to William and Della (Dericks) Woodworth on a farm near Ayr, NE. She attended school in Ayr then when her family moved to Hastings she attended Hastings Public Schools. She graduated from Hastings High in 1934 then Hastings College in 1938.

Dorothy was a High School teacher for 2 years in Alda and one year in Riverton. In 1940 she married Wesley Lipp of Franklin, they made their home in Franklin, and to this union 4 children were born. Her joy was raising her 2 daughters, Pam and Patty and following their activities. A good education was important to her. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for their Chevy implement business. Wesley passed away in 1983. In 1985 she moved back to Hastings. She married John C. Flessner in 1988, John passed away in 2004.

Dorothy enjoyed music, singing, dancing and playing the piano. She had a love for animals. She spent time raising plants and flowers. She watched many sports on TV and always loved the Huskers. She did crossword puzzles each day and kept busy with knitting and jigsaw puzzles. She was proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Franklin for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with her husband John.

She is survived by daughters, Pam (Bryan) Hayes of Hastings, Patty (Dave) Long of Aurora, 6 grandchildren, Bryan Jr. Hayes, Robb (Kylene) Hayes, Megan (Brent) Piel, Stacey (Ryan) Petersen, Shannon (Benji) Hoegh and Tyler, (Sara) Long, 12 great grandchildren, Mackenna, Alivia, Asher, Cainan Petersen, Ella, Avery, Benson Hoegh, Addison Long Delaney, Jett, Collins Hayes, Emily Piel, and step granddaughter, Carrie Huber, 2 step daughters, Elaine Flessner and Ellen Vaughn and sister in laws, Clarice Lipp and Velma Siel, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Wesley Lipp and John Flessner, two brothers, Maurice and Wayne Woodworth and 2 infant children.
