Carl R. Jeffries
Carl R. "Dick" Jeffries, 65, Shelbyville, died Sunday at Major Hospital.
Born March 8, 1934, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Charles Clarence and Mary Margaret (McColley) Jeffries. He married Doris J. (Redd) Jeffries on Aug. 14, 1959, and she survives.
Mr. Jeffries was employed for over 30 years at Knauf Fiberglass GmbH, he retired in 1998. He previously was employed at H.E. McColley Excavating, Shelbyville, and served from 1956 to 1959 with the US Army in Alaska.
He was a member of the G.M.P. Guild.
Other survivors include three sons, Barry A. Jeffries and Terry E. Jeffries, both of Shelbyville, and Garry R. Jeffries, Geneva; one brother, Jack E. Jeffries, Morristown; four sisters, Katie Willey, Jody Popplewell and Mary Hicks, all of Shelbyville, and Peggy Miller, Nicholasville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, with the reverends David Humphrey and Fred Shelton officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with military graveside services.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
