Vida Lorene Gilliam Burk, age 94 of Springfield MO and formerly of West Plains, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in Christian Health Nursing Home West, Springfield, MO. She was born April 15, 1914, near West Plains, MO, to Walton and Blanche Bennett Gilliam.
She graduated from the Peace Valley High School.
On May 18, 1935, was married at Alton, MO, to Doyle Lon Burk who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1999.
Mrs. Burk was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, West Plains.
She had been a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary, West Plains.
She is survived by her son, Ray Burk and wife, Bonnie of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Tava Summers of West Plains, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; one infant son, Roy Neal Burk; and one sister, Alta Lea Gilliam, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial was at Barnett Cemetery.
