Elmer L. Hughes, 89, of Princeton, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2015 in Plano, Texas. He was born December 11, 1925 in Knox County, Texas to Arthur Elmer and Addie Pauline Brock Hughes. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service. He served in the Marines during World War II. He married Beatrice Virginia Van Ness on November 14, 1948 in Houston, Texas. Elmer is survived by: Wife: Beatrice Hughes; Son: Michael David Hughes; Son: Stephen Wayne (Cynthia) Hughes; Daughter: Cynthia Lynne (Jim) Herren; Son: Jeffrey Neil Hughes; Daughter: Nancy Ann Caldwell; Brothers: Jimmy Ray (Margie) Hughes and Billy Lawrence Hughes; Grandchildren: 10; Great-Grandchildren: 9. He was preceded in death by Son: Jimmy Glenn Hughes and Brother: Richard Alonzo Hughes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of Christ in Farmersville, Texas. Burial will follow in Van Winkle Cemetery in Climax, Texas.
