William F. Lundy was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 10th, 1951, to Leroy Fred Lundy, MD and Ruth Sawyer Lundy. Bill received his High School Diploma from Ingraham High School in Seattle, Washington; graduating Class of 1970.
In 1971, he enlisted in the US Army, and served for 3 years achieving the rank of SP4. During his time served, he achieved a National Defense Service Medal, a service medal of the United States Armed Forces, established in 1953 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, awarded to service members who served honorably during a period of time in which a "national emergency" had been declared during a time of war or conflict, as well as his Parachute Badge, a badge designed during World War II by Captain (later Lieutenant General) William P. Yarborough of the 501st Parachute Battalion, usually awarded to any individual who has satisfactorily completed the prescribed proficiency tests while assigned or attached to an airborne unit and/or participated in at least one combat parachute jump.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army Bill continued his education at the University of Washington where he completed and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology.
He began his career in the Steel Industry in 1991, where he diligently worked for a span of 22 years. The most recent company he worked for in the Industry was Nucor Steel. In addition, Bill was a proud member of the American Legion in Shoreline -post 227, for 20 years.
In 1995, Bill married Barbara Anne Eide of Seattle, Washington on November 10th; strategically chosen on Bill's Birthday, so he would always remember their Wedding Anniversary with each passing year.
Bill could often be found enjoying a good book, solving a jigsaw puzzle, or keeping up with his sports teams. A true fan at heart, of Baseball and Football in particular, Bill always enjoyed cheering for the University of Washington Huskies, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Seattle Mariners.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Fred Lundy, MD. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lundy of Seattle, mother Ruth King of Seattle, brother, Tom Lundy of Seattle, sister, Elizabeth Hamilton (Larry) of Virginia and many extended family members throughout the world.
He will be dearly missed, and in our hearts forever.
Services for Bill will be held at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2015. The family will begin receiving guests at 12:30 pm and a committal service will follow at 1:00 pm with military honors being performed by the US Army.
