Daughter of John Henry and Margaret (Peel) SEELY.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mrs. Vern S. W. ERICKSEN, 38, wife of Sterling M. ERICKSEN, died at the family home Friday from influenza and complications. Mrs. ERICKSEN was taken ill ten days ago while nursing her son, Arthur WINTERS, who is now convalescing from scarlet fever.

She was born here January 26, 1895, a daughter of John H. and Margaret Peel SEELY. She graduated from North Sanpete high school and later attended the University of Utah. She married Usher WINTERS, February 22, 1915. He died December 30, 1918, during the first influenza epidemic.

The year following her husband's death she began teaching school again and has been a member of the Hamilton school faculty in this city for 14 years, the last two years as a substitute teacher. She married Sterling M. ERICKSEN, December 28, 1925, in Salt Lake. She was president of the LDS North Ward Y.L.M.I.A. in 1928-29 and had been a member of North Sanpete LDS Stake M.I.A. board. She was a past president of the Mount Pleasant Service Star Legion, past president of the Twentieth Century club, past president of the Junior Literary club and at the time of her death was a director of the John H. Seely & Sons Company and first vice president of the American Legion auxiliary. She has also served several years as secretary-treasurer of the Mount Pleasant Civic league.

Surviving are her husband, a son and a daughter by her first marriage, Arthur and Margaret WINTERS, four brothers and three sisters; Mrs. Albert MERRILL and Mrs. O. E. McGHAN and Leonard SEELY, Salt Lake; Mrs. Robert H. HINCKLEY, Ogden; Oliver D. SEELY, New York, Leo and Chesley P. SEELY, Mount Pleasant.

The body is at the Ursenbach Funeral Home and funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of relatives.
