Evelyn E. Gabbard, 91, joined heaven Monday January 26, 2015 in Greenfield, IN. She was born November 24, 1923 in Gorham, IL to the late Watt and Margaret (Campbell) Newfarmer. She was a member of the Knightstown First Baptist Church and was a retired house parent from the Indiana Soldier and Sailor Children’s Home. Evelyn was an avid reader, an oil painter and loved traveling and camping. She also enjoyed birdwatching, fishing and cooking.
She will be greatly missed by her sons Phillip (Jane) Moschenrose of Pennsylvania and Michael (Kim) Moschenrose of Kentucky; a daughter Doris (Robert) Walburn of Greenfield, IN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Moschenrose (1986) and Owen Gabbard (1982), two brothers Henry and William Luke Newfarmer and a sister Beulah DeRossett.
Services for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 1PM at HERITAGE FUNERAL CARE KNIGHTSTOWN, IN. Friends may visit from 11AM until time of service; Reverend Beth Crouch to preside service. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11AM in Cumberland Cemetery, 10601 North East 10th St., Casey IL 62420 with family to preside.
