Deaths
Woods - At the home of her son, J. S. Woods, east of Severy, Thursday night, Feb 6, 1908. Mrs. Hugh Woods, aged 74 years, 10 months and 13 days.
Delilah Jackson was born in Morgan county, Ind., March 23, 1833; moved with her parents to Missouri about the year 1837; moved to Cass county, Ind., 1851, where on Jan. 25, 1853 she was married to Hugh Woods. They removed to Kansas in 1873 and homesteaded a claim northeast of Severy. To this union were born six children two dying in infancy and four sons, J. A. Woods of Scammon, Kansas, Robert of Axtell, Texas, and W. J. and J. S. of Severy with the husband survives her. At an early age of 15 years the deceased united with the Baptist church with which she remained identified until the time of her death.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. Fate Durham after which the remains were interred in Twin Groves cemetery.
