Hachaliah Lyman Bailey (born 31 JUL 1774 in Somers, Westchester Co., New York, died there 2 SEP 1845) was the son of James Bailey and Anne (Brown);
grandson of Levi Bailey & Jane (Gilcrest) Bailey, Hackaliah Brown & Abigail (Halstead) Brown (the Halsteads were Ferris descendants);
great-grandson of Nathaniel Bailey & wife Leah (DeVoe).

Hachaliah Lyman Bailey married first Ruth Ferris, second Elizabeth Brown, and third (in 1798) Mary Rafter Purdy, daughter of Joseph Lyon Purdy (b. 1744) and Elida (Guion) Purdy.

Mary R. Purdy Bailey was a third cousin of Esther Purdy, daughter of Isaac Purdy Jr. and Susannah (Angevine) Purdy, who married her cousin Peter Angevine, son of Joseph Angevine and Margaret (Bailey, supposedly). Peter Angevine's first cousin Caleb Sutton Angevine (1795-1859) was a part owner of the first syndicate circus in the United States, the June, Titus & Angevine Circus.
Like his cousin Peter Angevine, Caleb S. Angevine married a Purdy.
Caleb Sutton Angevine was the son of Benjamin Angevine and Deborah (Sutton); grandson of Pierre Angevine Jr. ("Peter") and Abigail (Williams); great-grandson of Pierre Angevine Sr. and Marguerite (de Bonrepos).

Benjamin Angevine's brother Joseph married Margaret (Bailey, some say) who is buried in the Bailey family graveyard. Joseph and Margaret had a daughter Abigail who married Benjamin Bailey (born 24 MAY 1785 in Putnam Co., NY, died 28 FEB 1823 in Carmel, Putnam Co., NY), son of Devoe Bailey (b. 18 MAR 1750/51 in North Salem, Westchester, NY) and Elizabeth Smith (b. 1 MAY 1760 on Long Island, NY).
