Anna was born in Bavaria (possibly in Augsburg) about 1832 to Xavier (Haver) Beck and his wife Ephrosyne (Rosina) Baÿerle, who emigrated to Carver Co MN via Castle Garden, NY, arriving on the ship Emma on 7 Feb. 1853. She was one of seven siblings who immigrated with their parents.

Anna died in Minnestrista, Minnesota of smallpox in June of 1869 at age 37. She had borne six children since 1855 and lost two of them before her own death. The remaining children were between ages 14 and 2. Her husband Jakob Schleh remarried the same year of her death and had five more children with his second wife, Johanna Muller.
