James Holland Lewis, Sr. was the youngest son of Samuel Andrew Lewis and Lorena Holland Lewis. Samuel A. Lewis was the 5th child born to James W. Lewis and Susan Clemmer Lewis. James H. Lewis, Sr. was married to Mary Etta Jenkins on March 25, 1909. The couple had three children: 1. Hubert Grant Lewis 2. James Holland Lewis, Jr. 3. Hazel Wilson Lewis.
