Obituary for James Robert Brown
Mr. James Robert Brown, 86, passed away February 26, 2015 at Regency Care of Clemmons. He was born October 3, 1928 in Forsyth County to the late Zebulon Vance Brown and Ollie Rothrock Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines and subsequently served in the U. S. Air Force. He retired as owner of J. B. Auto Sales after 50 years. He enjoyed fishing on his many trips to Morehead City. Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Nell Taylor Brown of the home; two sons, Mark Vance Brown (Debbie) of Clemmons and Frank Lee Brown (Cecilia) of Lexington; a daughter, Jan Brown Blevins of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Gerri, Robbie, and Michael; four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Caleb, Reece, and Samantha; special friends, Jack and Parie Huffman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Union Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. The family would like to give a special thanks to Grace and the staff of Regency Care of Clemmons and the Plemmons family for the care that was given to Mr. Brown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
