Kendell was born in the same house as his mother to Warren Edward and Vera Allred Brinkerhoff, in Lovell, WY.

Due to humble beginnings, he learned to work hard at an early age to help out their large family. He attended schools in Lovell, WY, served an LDS Mission in the Western States Mission, then 2 years in Germany for the US Army where he was a cook, & a Golden Gloves boxer-known for his mean left hook.

He earned his Bachelor's at BYU and there he met his sweetheart, Marilyn Rae Pittman. They were married December 29, 1960 in the Mesa, AZ Temple and shared 54 wonderful years together. He then went on to earn a Master's Degree at Utah State in Agriculture Economics. He began a career with Farmer's Home Administration and retired in 1994. Together, he and Marilyn served an LDS mission in New Zealand from Nov. 1999-May 2001.

Ken and Marilyn had 12 children and raised 11, daughter Amy passing away in infancy. He was a hard worker and wanted his children to have that work ethic also. There was a farm, a cow, a giant garden and plenty of chores to serve this purpose. Ken could out-work anyone and make dinner out of anything. He found joy in his family, serving others and working in the garden. Humble and valiant to a fault, he was a server to the core. His Testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was most important to him. There was never any doubt where he stood.

Kendell served in many callings: Home Teacher, Ward & Stake Mission Leader, Bishop of the Panguitch North Ward, a Counselor in the Stake Presidency, Director of the Panguitch Family History Center and Temple Worker. He loved The Lord with all his heart and always wanted to serve Him.
