Raymond Joe McRee, Sr., 93, passed away on February 26, 2015 in DeSoto, MS. He was born September 25, 1921, in DeSoto, to Robertus R. and Minnie Mae Boykin McRee.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Lois Norsworthy McRee; his parents; and his brother, Robertus R. Jr.,

Raymond is survived by his wife, Christine Hayes Fairley McRee; sons, Raymond Joe, Jr. (Annie) McRee and Alton Kenneth (Joan) McRee; his grandchildren, Ryan Thomas (Kimberly) McRee, Kristin McRee (Hugh) Walker and Justin Kyle (Stacy) McRee; and 6 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Donald (Madeline) Fairley, Nelda (Randy) Waldrup and Debra (Cliff) Stafford; 8 step grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by his sister, Dennie McRee Hunter; his brother, Roderick (Jerri) McRee and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ryan McRee, Justin McRee, Bert McRee, Cliff Stafford, Lewis Mayo and Ray Mayo. Honorary pallbearers will be The Men’s Sunday School Class of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman. The Rev. Dennis Kennedy of Pine Grove Baptist Church will officiate.
