He is a graduate of Sierra High School in Auberry, California, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart Darla Deavenport.
Mike was a trucker for quite a few years driving his own rig. Later he started up a wood working business, creating his specialty of oak stair casings. He was very gifted craftsman.
He is survived by his wife Darla Barcus, son Douglas, mother Euleene Runge, father Wally Barcus, sister Nancy Thomas, brothers Bob and Brad Barcus, niece Tracy Sellers, nephew Chuck Thomas, great nieces Charlotte Sellers and Camryn Thomas, and great nephew Victor Sellers Jr.
Michael's ashes will someday be scattered in the California mountains that he loved so much.
