MILTON M. ALLMANDINGER, 96, of Fort Wayne, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, with family by his side. Born June 19, 1918, he was a son of Jacob and Louise (Bollen bacher) Allman dinger. Milton married the love of his life, Mary, on Feb. 19, 1944. He graduated from South Side High School in 1936 and General Electric Apprentice School in 1940. Milton was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he loved serving the Lord. He retired from General Electric in 1980 after more then 30 years of service as an engineer. Milton will be remembered for his compassion, humbleness, good humor, smile, and enthusiasm for helping others. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, and spending time at their cottage on Coldwater Lake. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mary (Wetzel); sons, Thomas of Fort Wayne and Steven (Saundra) of Hoagland; daughter, Sue (Jon) Weterick of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Travis, Chad, Ty, and Kristin; and great-granddaughters, Kailyn and Autumn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Herman, Ernest, Virgil, and Leo. The family would like to acknowledge his caregiver, Kathryn Lothamer, for her many devoted hours spent with him. Service is 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2435 Engle Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Chad Trouten officiating. Calling also from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
