Golda Mae Standiferd Freund, 89 of Lebo, passed away Wednesday evening at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia.

She was born April 13, 1925 in Shattuck, Oklahoma the daughter of Hugh and Golda Nine Casey. Golda attended Lebo High School and graduated with the Class of 1942.

Golda was married to Raymond Standiferd in 1942. They later divorced. She later married Malcolm DeCoteau in 1946. They later divorced. Golda and Raymond were remarried in 1959. Raymond preceded her in death in 1973. She married Jack Freund in 1974. He preceded her in death in 2006. Golda was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Ramona DeCoteau; sister, Frankie Evans and a brother, Maurice Casey.

As a young mother, Golda worked as a waitress and cook. She also worked at the Sunflower Munition Plant in DeSoto. She later worked as a data entry specialist for Phillips Petroleum. She drove a School bus for the Lebo Schools in the early 1960's. During the late 1960's and early 1970's she worked at West America Securities. Golda helped her husband Jack on the farm and with the family Insurance business and went on to receive her insurance license.

Golda was a member of the Lebo United Methodist Church and the Lebo American Legion Auxillary. Her other memberships included the Flint Hills China Painters and the Choralaires.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Sue Standiferd Brown of Hutchinson; three sons, Ronnie Standiferd of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lonnie Ray Standiferd of Lebo and Jon Freund of Wichita; a sister, Rosemary Winter of Longmont, Colorado; seventeen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
