Betty Crew returned to her heavenly father on February 24, 2015 after a short hospital stay due to complications from diabetes.

She was born November 16, 1932 in Electra, Texas to Theodore and Miriam Lucinda (Streety) Thurman.

She was raised near Muleshoe, Texas and graduated from Muleshoe High in 1951.

Betty married her sweetheart, Gerald LeRoy Crew, on May 2, 1953.

As a member of Murray Baptist Church for over fifty years, Betty held the positions of church clerk, and editor of the Lamplighter newsletter.

She lived her life with grace, kindness, and unconditional love for everyone she knew.

Betty is survived by her children, Rebecca Brown (T Wooldridge), Taylorsville; Carol (Jack) Mears, Midvale; Hal (Becky) Crew, West Jordan; Curtis (Melanie) Crew, West Jordan; Mark Crew, West Jordan; and Carl Crew, Salt Lake City; as well as sisters, Pansy Welch, Shallowater, Texas; Bobbie Wilson, Washington; and Linda McIntyre, Lubbock, Texas. Betty was a proud grandma to twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald LeRoy Crew; parents; brothers, LeRoy, Delinn, Gordon, and Mason; sisters, Virginia, June, and Deloris; step-daughter, Deloris (Bill) Schindler; and step-granddaughter, Dara Sue Schindler Miller.

Viewing services will be held on Froday, February 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray Baptist Church, 184 East 5770 South, Murray. There will be a viewing held one hour before the services.
